The holiday is just in a matter of days, but the good news is, there’s still plenty of time to look stylish for July 4th. The best part is, you don’t have to rush out and try to find a t-shirt with an American flag. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing one, I will share some ideas that are a little more subtle and chic, but still very patriotic. You may even have some of these pieces in your closet already – you just have to look at them differently!

Modern and Elevated Shorts Look
Model: Jen
Shorts are probably the go-to piece to be stylish for July 4th. But this year we’re both elevating and modernizing the look. Jen’s navy/white pinstripe shorts and vest set are from Express. What you can’t tell in this picture is that the fabric is seersucker, a classic summer fabric and very lightweight. So, while her outfit might look a little heavier than it is, know that it’s lightweight. The seersucker fabric, along with her cat-eye sunglasses, gives the outfit a hint of vintage style too.

Where Festive Meets Dinner Date
Model: Natalie
Most get-togethers for the 4th are in someone’s backyard. But what if you actually go out to a restaurant or to a dressier event indoors? You can still be subtly festive and stay warm when the A/C is on full blast. Natalie’s outfit is designed to be just that. It’s perfect for a dinner date or if she even had to entertain work clients. Remember, you don’t have to just be stylish for July 4th. You can wear these outfits all week long.

Festive and Feminine
Becca’s dress is 100% feminine and pretty. And again, perfectly appropriate for the holiday. The red dress says it all, she doesn’t need anything else. We love the eyelet fabric of the dress too – it keeps it light and breezy. We added some classic accessories that scream summer – her raffia wedges and handbag. Like all of these looks, she can wear this all summer long, not just for the 4th.

Classic Casual
Model: Sujata
Sujata is wearing the classic casual outfit to be stylish for July 4th. A pair of classic white jean capri pants and a navy top. Of course, we had to add the red sandals to round out her red, white and blue. This outfit could possibly be in your closet as we speak. And if you don’t have red sandals, a pair of red sneakers would work just as well with this outfit. Lastly, just adding a scarf to her handbag adds a little more festive fun.

My Outfit
So, if you’re wondering how I pick what I am going to wear, I will tell you. I always like to dress “in theme” for these segments, but I don’t want what I wear to overshadow what the models are wearing. I want viewers to focus on what I am saying, be looking at the models and not be distracted by what I am wearing. That’s why I went with the navy suit with a modern cut. It’s a more stylish look than a traditional suit and I added the subtle star brooch for a touch of the July 4th theme.
